‘West Riding Limited’, LNER poster, 1938.

Poster produced for the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER) advertising the ÔWest Riding LimitedÕ, the first streamline train, operating between Bradford, Leeds and KingÕs Cross, London. The text box beneath the illustration of the train gives details of departure and arrival times. Artwork by Charles ÔShepÕ Shepherd, who studied art under Paul Woodroffe and was head of the studio at the Baynard Press. He designed posters for the Royal Mail Packet Steam Company and London Transport as well as SR.
